Walk Day details
The fun starts at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2011, at Sweet Briar College, with mandatory walker check-in. Prizes will be awarded at 11:30. The moderate course (Sweet Briar's "Dairy Loop") is about 3 miles long. Two water stations will be available on the course, and refreshments will be provided at the end. The course is not suitable for baby strollers. No pets, please. Registered participants under 18 must have the permission of a parent or guardian. Children under 7 walk free.The walk will be held rain or shine.
Your Sponsors
Print the separate sponsors form and use it to raise money for CALL. If at all possible, please mail your completed form and the funds you have raised no later than Oct. 31st. Otherwise, you may bring them with you when you check in on walk day. All contributions will be used in direct support of literacy education. Citizens for Adult Literacy & Learning, Inc. is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization, and all donations are tax-deductible.

Every registered walker may choose a free book from a collection donated by CALL's Board of Directors. A lucky few will receive |

door prizes such as gift certificates and goodie bags, and the walker who raises the most money will receive the Grand Prize, a Kindle e-reader, with an e-book gift certificate! Winners must be present to receive prizes.
Registration
It would be most helpful if participants use the online form to preregister, no later than noon on Thursday, Nov. 3rd. If you prefer, you can print this form and mail it no later than Oct. 31st. If necessary, registration will also be accepted at the event itself. The suggested registration fee is $10 or $20, and can be paid either online via PayPal, or by mail, with a check made payable to Citizens for Adult Literacy & Learning, Inc. The registration fee is nonrefundable.
The first 75 participants to register at the $20 level will receive a stunning Walk-a-thon T-shirt!
Directions and Parking
Turn off Route 29 onto the Sweet Briar College campus. Follow the signs to the old train station. There is ample parking in the lot in front of Guion Science Building, where the walk begins. |
