Another way to support our efforts is through bequest giving, which specifies a distribution of funds from your estate through your will. You can find information about this kind of planned giving at Leave a Legacy.

Businesses
We gratefully acknowledge the support of Greif Brothers Corporation at Riverville, sponsor of our Literacy Golf Tournaments, and of many other local businesses and merchants.

What Businesses Can Do
  • Donate money, equipment or in-kind services
  • Provide opportunities for your own employees to improve their education
  • Encourage your employees to volunteer
  • Adopt a local literacy program

Local government
The Amherst County Board of Supervisors awards us an annual grant to support our mission.

Golf tournament
Our annual Literacy Golf Tournament, held in May, is our principal fund-raising activity. Golfers can participate either as teams or as individuals. Lunch and practice balls are provided, and Brockman Chevrolet, a local dealer, offers a new car as a prize for a hole-in-one.
